Marc Bernstein

Marc BernsteinA tax preparer, musician and educator, Marc Bernstein has been a theatrical tax consultant since 1978, joining the tax preparation business founded by his former partner, Harry Linton. He brings over 36 years experience in working with people from all facets of the performing arts, including actors, musicians, writers, artists and technical professionals, with knowledge of over 80 theatrical-related tax deductions and experience in preparing tax returns from every state.

He is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals and the American Federation of Musicians.

For 25 years Marc wrote the popular “Actors and Income Taxes” column for Backstage. He also lectures at the Julliard School gearing his tax presentation to graduate opera students, at the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera, The Academy, and at the Actors’ Connection focusing on tax guidelines for actors.

Prior to beginning his career in taxation, Marc was a high school band director in New York City and Connecticut. He is a graduate of the High School of Music and Art in New York City, and holds both a B.S. and M.A. Degree from Hofstra University and an M.S. Degree from University of Bridgeport.

Marc is a firm believer in the sign that has hung over his desk for 37 years. It is as valid today as it was when he began – “A Good Tax Man Never Costs a Penny.”

Richard M. Prinzi, Jr

Prinzi, Jr., and his tax and entertainment profession partners now offer these time-tested financial necessities to freelancers in the music industry through F-Sharp Tax Management Services.

Just like the TV industry in NYC, the music industry is full of freelance professionals that live job to job and have some success, punctuated with lean times. The support professionals suffer similar problems as the artists, however, their good years are not as big and they rarely make royalties. They earn a good wage, but have to stay under contract to make ends meet and avoid the debt spiral of taxes. That’s where F-Sharp Tax Management came from,” said Richard about the inspiration behind F-Sharp. “We brought together legendary tour professionals and former musicians to translate what we do into a language that is relatable to the modern day, music industry professional. Richard started out in Staten Island, graduating from St. Peters High School, then The College of Staten Island, with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Accounting with highest honors. He joined Deloitte & Touche, LLP, as an audit professional in the financial services business unit, specializing in audit and consulting for international broker dealers and retail companies. Richard became a Certified Public Accountant in July 1995. In 2001, Richard left to develop his private practice, forming the partnership of Prinzi & Tapinis.

In 2005, Richard consolidated his business entities forming Integrated Financial Services, Inc. (“IFS”). With his three partners and 12 employees, he oversees a practice providing tax, accounting, financial planning, forensic accounting, legal and various consulting services to individuals and small businesses. IFS has offices in Staten Island, Brooklyn and Manhattan, and serves more than 4,000 clients per year.

Currently he manages his own private practice while providing CEO services to several Accounting and Tax firms including F-Sharp Tax Management, Actor’s Taxes, Professional Tax Alliance and Limelight Production Management Services.The practices are national with offices in New York, Las Vegas and Los Angeles, with F-Sharp, Actor’s Taxes and Limelight focusing on self-employed professionals in different sectors of the entertainment business.He holds membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, where he served as president of the Staten Island chapter.

Richard is an active member of the community, working pro-bono for many not-for-profits and political campaign funds. In addition to serving as past president and treasurer for the South Shore Kiwanis Club, he is the past president of the College of Staten Island Alumni Association where he served as a board member since 1995 and an officer since 1998. Currently, he serves as the Treasurer of the College of Staten Island Foundation. In 2003, he was awarded the president’s award for community service. Richard is also a recently retired adjunct professor with the business department at the College of Staten Island.

As a leader in South Shore Kiwanis, Richard has chaired fundraising events and volunteered time for numerous charities such as Kids Against Cancer, Learning for Life (Disabled Boy Scouts), 911 Families Fund, Katrina Relief, Meals on Wheels and holiday food drives. He is an active member of the Notre Dame Academy community, where he has coached basketball and soccer over the past two decades.

Micheal Tedeschi

Micheal As a co-founder of F-Sharp Tax Management Services, Michael Tedeschi and his partners keep abreast of changes in the tax code as they affect freelance, self-employed and small business owners in the music, entertainment, creative and sales industries. Working closely with individual F-Sharp tax clients, Mike adds his expertise in business finance, small business loans and creative financing for emerging businesses, to the wealth of knowledge that the team provides self-employed professionals.

After graduating from St. John’s University, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance with highest honors, including Omicron Delta Upsilon, the International Economics Honor Society, Michael joined Bankers Trust, as an operations professional in the financial services business unit, specializing in trading, profit and loss, and auditing.

After being promoted to Assistant Vice President, supervising a team in Global Investment Management, Michael left to develop his partnership, M&B Trading. In 2001, Michael became the sole owner and renamed the company Tedeschi Capital Markets. The firm traded in derivatives, equities, commodities, and currencies and had presence on many of the major trading floors located within the United States.

In 2007, Michael sold his firm and began working with Richard Prinzi, Jr., CPA, providing tax, accounting, financial planning, forensic accounting, legal and various consulting services to individuals and small businesses.

In addition to his leadership and client work at F-Sharp, Michael manages private practice Actor’s Taxes, providing expert tax services to entertainment industry professionals of all types, including artists, writers, singers, musicians, actors, directors, performers, and other creative professionals. He understands the specific needs unique to the entertainment industry.

An active member of the community, he is a past board member of Bayshore Sewage Authority, and a former member of the American Stock Exchange, The Chicago Board of Trade, The Chicago Mercantile Exchange, and the Archipelago Exchange. Michael has served as the president of Holmdel Football Association, a board trustee for Jersey Shore, and a member of the Holmdel Recreation Committee. Michael is an active member of The Peddie School community, where he coaches football.

Michael and his wife Barbara have three sons, Dean, Tyler and Jack.
